MSI GS65 Stealth Thin 8 RF laptop review

The gaming laptop MSI GS65 Stealth Thin 8 RF has been testing our gadget browser Volodya Borovoy. This model is one of the lightest and thinnest notebooks of this class.


MSI GS65 Stealth Thin 8 RF has a 15.6-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz and response time of 7 milliseconds. Frames around the edges turned out pretty thin. In dimensions it seems that the laptop is 14-inch – the thickness of the case is less than two centimeters. The weight is 1.88 kg.

Inside, an eighth generation Intel Core i7 processor and a GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q video card with 8 GB of video memory are installed. The maximum amount of RAM can be up to 32 GB, for storage of data there is an SSD-drive with a capacity of 512 GB. There is also a modification of the GS65 Stealth Thin 8 RE, which differs only in the GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card.

In the mode of watching videos and surfing the web, the laptop can work for about six and a half hours. If you run the game, then the battery, he will stretch a maximum of a couple of hours. And it should be borne in mind that with less than 60% of the charge, the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin 8 RF will begin to severely reduce performance in order to extend the usage time. So during gaming, a laptop is better to provide power from the network.

As for the connectors, on the right side there is a connector for charging, HDMI, DisplayPort, USB Type-C with Thundesbolt support and USB 3.0. Ethernet, two more USB 3.0 and two 3.5 mm audio jacks for connecting a microphone and headphones were placed on the left side.
