Review Asus ZenBook Pro with a screen in the touchpad

At Computex 2018, which is currently underway in Taiwan, we have already watched the Asus ROG Phone smartphone and the Asus ROG Strix Scar II gaming . But this did not end with Asus, our Volodya Borovoi prepared a quick review of the new ZenBook Pro with a screen built into the touchpad.


The model is available in two versions. ZenBook Pro 14 equipped with a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and an Intel Core i7 processor of the eighth generation. The ZenBook Pro 15 features a 15.6-inch screen with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 or 1920 × 1080 pixels and an 8th-generation Intel Core i9 processor.

Both models have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, up to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and a SSD of up to 1 TB. Notebooks are equipped with USB Type-C, USB 3.1, HDMI, memory card slot and 3.5-mm audio jack.

A key feature of the new ZenBook Pro line is ScreenPad. This 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a viewing angle of 178 degrees, which is installed in place of the touchpad. You can work in several modes – use the screen as an ordinary touchpad, run separate applications on it or use it as an additional monitor.

Among other chips: there is a fingerprint scanner, Harman Kardon acoustics and a battery of 71 W, which will provide up to 10 hours of operation. Information on prices and the start date of sales in Asus was promised to be announced later.
